Choe’s digital still-image work Mad Park Metal Bikini is based on a recurring motif in the artist’s practice. Half robot half female form, rendered in what looks like watercolour, Mad Park Metal Bikini is a bizarre mix of techno-erotica and classic craftsmanship. There exist multiple renderings of the so-called Choebot, including several interpretations available as an iPhone application available on iTunes. The app allows consumers to superimpose Choe’s works onto their own photography and create their “personalised Choebots”.
