Empor is part of Passages, a collection of nine images and videos from different series of work by Nicolas Feldmeyer. The works contemplate space, light, and the longing for what is out of reach.

Empor is a project for a pavilion-like structure. Entering the concrete shell through a small metal door, visitors find themselves in a dark vestibule. Sliding a second metal door, they emerge into the main space, stepping onto a light metal bridge. The walls of the concrete shell are out of reach, and indirect light entering the space makes for a weightless, disorientating effect, rendering the scale of the space uncertain. It could be described as an interior belvedere, or a belvedere with no view.
