This work was last seen, as a large projection, emerging from the exterior wall of the Vigeland Museum in Oslo, as part of the final exhibition and conference from the Perfection|Speculation residency. Utilising the digitised bodies of an ex-RUC officer now turned Irish Druid, a life model of west African and native north American heritage, and the legal adviser to Extinction Rebellion whose body is partly shaped by cerebral palsy and adorned with the medieval Mappa Mundi as a total body tattoo. In a sense we are touching on the ancient peoples’ opening connection with the earth, the current period of obsessive human centricity and the attempts by some of us to warn of the pending termination of our brief period of living here. Human existence on planet earth is but a passing emergence from the darkness.
