Terrell Lozada (b. 1962) is an American painter and sculptor living in Paris. Her work represents an internal, emotional world through objects subjected to unreliable or suspended gravity. She uses imagery and language to create works that explore the metaphysics of gender and power in contemporary society. Her aesthetic fulcrum is the late 18th century, particularly as it relates to French architecture. She works in a wide variety of media including watercolor, oil on panel, cast bronze, etchings and carved wood. She is currently exploring tin-glazed terracotta (faïence stannifère) to combine color and form.
